Thank you for visiting Mama Doula Care Services! I, Jessica, began as a birth professional in 2010 after years of working in the Food Service industry and Social Services jobs with children and at-risk youth. Pregnancy and parenting\n a newborn were transformative. The maternal nature of the birth professionals caring for me while pregnant drew me in and served as an informal mentorship; the retired Nurse who was our Childbirth Educator and a Birth Doula, a well-seasoned\n Midwife who could have delivered me, and a Birth Doula of 10+ years. Also, the writings of Ina May Gaskin and Sheila Kitzinger inspired and propelled me into formal training and Certification as a Postpartum Doula and Lactation Educator. <\/p>\n

In 2016, Jessica \u2013 Mama Doula LLC continued training as a CNA, Certified Nursing Assistant. While she remained working with families who had newborns and or multiples, her career shifted to supporting people at the end of life\u2019s spectrum.\n Like Postpartum Care, Mama Doula Care Services continued to be based in homes, now included were Elders, people with physical or cognitive disabilities and Alzheimer\u2019s Disease, assisting with ADLs, activities of daily living. To\n gain new experience, Mama Doula switched to working at a well-known Seattle, Assisted Living environment. Here, she received Nurse Delegate training, to dispense medication and how to effectively work with people in Memory Care who\n have Alzheimer\u2019s Disease, Dementia or other Mental Health issues. In sum, feeding families is her favorite tool for healthcare delivery, as a form of disease prevention, tackling chronic health issues and way of caring for people.\n In 2026, Mama Doula is pursuing education to become a PTA, Physical Therapy Assistant.\n

In 2016, Jessica became a CNA, Certified Nursing Assistant. While remaining working with newborns and feeding families, her career shifted to supporting people at the end of life\u2019s spectrum. Like with Postpartum Care, the work continued to be based in homes, just with a different population, Elders,  people with physical or cognitive disabilities, assisting with ADLs, activities of daily living. Then to gain experience in a new setting, she switched to working at an Assisted living facility. Here, she received Nurse Delegate training, or ability to dispense medication under an RN\u2019s license, training in how to effectively assist people afflicted by Alzheimer\u2019s, Dementia and Mental Health Issues. All of this showed her that feeding families was by far her favorite tool of health care, as a form of disease prevention, tackling chronic health issues and as a way of caring for people.<\/span>\n
